Radiation Therapist

 

Job Overview:

Radiation Therapists support physician diagnoses by administering radiation therapy. Typical responsibilities include preparing patients for and administering radiation therapy.  Radiation Therapists provide information/education to patients regarding radiation procedures, deal with physician orders, and correct authorization/paper work for reimbursement.

                                        

Where do Radiation Therapists work in Alaska?

Radiation Therapists work wherever there is a health care provider who has the equipment and authority to order radiation therapy

 

Education Needed:

  • Graduation from high school
  • Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training program, preferably an Associate Degree or greater
  • A national certification examination is offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).

 

Hourly Wage - $21.35-$38.46
