Health care workforce development is the focus of the
                          Interior AHEC.

o  First, get youth in our region interested in health careers.
o  Next, help facilitate clinical rotation experiences and encourage
health program students to return to the Interior region when
         they have completed their programs.

o  And finally, keep rural health care providers happy, satisfied
with their jobs and engaged in learning by offering a
         variety of continuing education opportunities.

These are the "3 R's" of Recruitment , Rotations and Retention.

Though Alaska's AHEC is new, we are fortunate to be operating
as part of a statewide and national network of centers.  The
statewide network consists of a program office in the UAA School of
Nursing and four satellite offices: Fairbanks, Bethel, Anchorage and Sitka.
